The Oman collection began in 2025 after my wife and I moved to Muscat to start a new chapter in our lives. From the beginning, I was captivated by the country’s extraordinary light. The warmth of the sun transforms ancient walls, the carved doorways, Oman’s quiet beaches and its fishing boats throughout the day creating moments that feel both peaceful and timeless.
As I explore more of Oman, I become fascinated by the stories held within its architecture and landscapes. Weathered and textured doors and walls, intricate mosaics and traditional boats all speak of craftsmanship, heritage and generations of people who have shaped these remarkable places. Rather than painting every detail, I aim to simplify each scene so that light becomes the true subject, revealing atmosphere, memory and a sense of place.
This collection reflects my ongoing Changing Light project, exploring how the same location is continually transformed by time, season and changing conditions. Every return offers a new way of seeing.
Through these paintings I hope to share the quiet beauty of Oman and create uplifting images that encourage people to pause, reconnect with places they love and discover the richness of a country where history, culture and light exist in remarkable harmony.
